SPRING 2011 Newsletter
Spring Fever.
The Winter season has passed in such a whirlwind here at Skeinz. What a busy time we have had – this year we saw an unprecedented amount of charity knitting – Knitting for Christchurch, Japan, neo-natal units, the SPCA & now penguins!
It’s wonderful how knitting brings people together & the act of sharing something handmade with LOVE does make a difference. Skeinz was also involved again with Knit August Nights held in Napier in August & for the first time we sponsored the hugely successful Tree Cosy installation in Napier Emerson Street.
Spring has been a time for us to start planning new yarns for next year. These include a new Summer yarn, due for release late next month – a selection of fresh breezy colours in a fine merino/cotton blend.
I have knitting coming out my ears – but I have to say I have had to select the simplest of knitting whilst watching all the rugby action over the last 6 weeks – it has been too easy to drop stitches & I have found that my tension varies wildly depending on the closeness of the game – thank goodness for garter stitch scarves!

The response has been so overwhelming that we no longer require any more jumpers for the penguins effected but make sure you check out our blog for latest updates on what we are doing with the surplus jumpers & the a way that you can still knit & be contributing to the penguin cause.

From Labour Weekend we are moving to our Summer Hours. This means we will no longer open the shop on Saturday Mornings. We will resume Saturdays in the New Year.
